Community of Nasyr-Kort mosque in Ingushetia demands to stop pressing Imam Chumakov
The Muslim community of the Nasyr-Kort mosque has addressed the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and the broad local public stating that recently the republic's authorities and the official clergy had been pressing the imam of the mosque Khamzat Chumakov.
Let us note here that the evening on July 24, Akroman Evkurov, one of Chumakov's supporters, was detained in Ingushetia. On July 26, the republic's MIA declared that the on duty unit had received a message about a bomb planted in the mosque; then, the mosque was cordoned off; however, the bomb was not found.
The incident was perceived by a number of public and political activists of Ingushetia as an authorities' campaign against Chumakov.
"We believe all the attempts of the state to interfere in the affairs of our religious community are inadmissible. Khamzat Chumakov completely satisfies as Imam; and any attempts to dismiss him will we be stopped by us by all possible means," says the statement of the community, which is at disposal of the "Caucasian Knot".
The people who signed the statement on behalf of the five-thousand strong meeting of the mosque held on July 26 after the Friday prayer demand to "stop the recently waged campaign aimed to discredit Imam Chumakov and the mosque."
