"Freedom House" claims unreliability of results of presidential election in Azerbaijan

The results of the voting at the election of the President of Azerbaijan are not reliable because of the large-scale violations. This was stated by David Kramer, President of the international human rights organization "Freedom House". The David Kramer's statement shows biased evaluation of the election. This was declared by the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA).

According to the evaluation of the "Freedom House", the election campaign in Azerbaijan took place in conditions of inequality between the candidates: the opposition candidates were severely limited in access to the media, while the candidate of the government used administrative resources to ensure an absolute majority of votes.

The government pressure on independent media, NGOs, political activists and opposition supporters has destroyed any possibility of free and fair election in Azerbaijan. This was declared by the statement that was posted on the organizations' website on October 10.

The evaluation of the presidential election expressed by the "Freedom House" evidences the organization's bias against Azerbaijan. This was commented by the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) on the statement of human rights defenders.
