Tskhinvali: court to decide on legality of actions of families who voluntarily moved into a new house
On December 25, the City Court of Tskhinvali will hold a session to define the legality of the unauthorized occupation of people in need of better housing of apartments in new houses.
The tenants are illegally living there since this March; and back in July Rostik Khugaev, Prime Minister of South Ossetia, says that their actions were illegal and they would be evicted.
After numerous notifications urging the tenants to abandon the apartments, the Tskhinvali Mayoralty filed a lawsuit to the city court against members of three families. These are the families of law enforcers of South Ossetia, who need improvement of their living conditions.
One of these families is on the waiting list for housing since 2009. "Both my husband and I are working for the law enforcement bodies. Prior to take this step, we had a lot of difficulties in obtaining housing. I have three minor children; and we have no housing of our own," said Marina.
Meanwhile, Point 1 of Article 33 of the Law of South Ossetia "On Providing Housing to Militia Employees" stipulates that staff members of the militia, recognized to be in need of improvement of their living conditions, shall be provided with housing in a form of a separate apartment or a house in accordance with statutory regulations.
