Woman from Makhachkala states her illegal detention at bus station

Olga Petrova, a resident of Makhachkala, reports about her illegal detention at the city bus station. The spokesman of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said that Olga Petrova had not been on the wanted list.

According to the woman, in the building of the bus station she was detained by unknown people in civilian clothes, who took her to the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of the Russia's MIA of the city of Makhachkala.

She added that at the ROVD she was questioned about her close relatives.

"I was asked about my parents and my family; they demanded to tell who works where, the years of birth, and where my children study. I don't know why they revealed so much attention to me: maybe, just because I wear a hijab. None of the policemen presented himself, I'm not even talking that they gave no explanations of the reasons of my detention," Olga Petrova told the "Caucasian knot" correspondent.

Later, she was released. "They let me go, but warned that they would call me again," she said.

In his turn, the on duty officer of the Kirov ROVD told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Olga Petrova had been detained because of her suspicious behaviour.
