Detainee dies in ROVD in Karachay-Cherkessia, his relatives assert (+video)

Murat Borlakov, a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia, delivered today to the Ust-Djegutin ROVD (District Interior Division), has died there under unclear circumstances, according to his relatives. In demand to clear out what happened, his relatives and friends blocked Federal Highway A-155 Vladikavkaz-Dombay.

"He was detained in the street when he was returning from the store with a cake in hand. He was taken to the ROVD," Ansar Borlakov, Murat's uncle, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that he is unaware of the reason for detention. "He has never been charged, and never figured in any criminal case," said the man.

"He was a perfectly healthy guy. He spent about an hour at the ROVD. Right from there his body was taken to the forensic examination office," said Ansar Borlakov.

The Ust-Djegutin ROVD refused to give any comments to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Karachay-Cherkessia has confirmed the information. "Yes, the case was recorded. Details of the incident are established and will be announced later," said a source from the press service of the MIA.
