Rostov-on-Don court passes conviction on terror act in Vladikavkaz
The North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has sentenced a group of defendants, accused of crimes committed in the territory of Ingushetia and North Ossetia, including the terror act in the marketplace in Vladikavkaz.
Issa Khashagulgov was sentenced to life imprisonment, Khizar Daurbekov – to 24 years, Mikail Khashagulgov and Magomed Daurbekov – to 14 years each, and Yusup Dzangiev – to 20 years in prison, says the website of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The court agreed with the arguments of the investigation that in 2007-2010, the defendants joined the community "Vilayat Galgaycho", whose members were involved in the commission of a terror act in the central marketplace of Vladikavkaz in September 2010, the "Interfax" reports.
Evidence against Yusup Dzangiev was fabricated; and his testimonies were knocked out under torture, his father, Magomed Dzangiev, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Khizar Daurbekov also refused to plead guilty, said his advocate Magomed Gagiev.
Earlier, the innocence of Issa Khashagulgov was claimed by his wife. The woman sought help from rights defenders, said Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the human rights organization "Mashr". According to his version, the power authorities and special services "have illegally executed" the family.
