Trial of Said Amirov starts in Rostov-on-Don; Makhachkala Mayoralty recalls earlier permit on rally in his support
On Friday, April 11, the North-Caucasian Military District Court began preliminary hearings on the case of Said Amirov, temporarily dismissed Mayor of Makhachkala, and his nephew Yusup Djaparov, the former Deputy Mayor of Kaspiysk, said Alyona Katskalo, the court press secretary. According to her story, the trial is held behind closed doors.
Let us remind you that Said Amirov and Yusup Djaparov accused of preparing a terror act with the use of a man-portable air defence missile system "Strela-2M". On April 2, Said Amirov was brought to SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 4 of Rostov-on-Don.
Meanwhile, the website of the Mayoralty of Makhachkala has posted a message that they recall the earlier issued permit to a rally in support of Said Amirov scheduled for April 12.
The Mayoralty officials report that all the organizers of the rally have been notified about the recall; they also emphasize that "any violation of the established procedure for organizing rallies shall entail responsibility under the law, and is a threat to public safety."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 18 a notification arrived in the Mayoralty of Makhachkala on behalf of the regional public movement in support of Said Amirov telling about the intention to hold a rally on March 20 in Rhodope Boulevard. The, the Mayoralty rejected the permit referring the non-observance of the time for notification.
Let us note here that within another criminal case Said Amirov is charged with the murder of investigator Arsen Gadjibekov.
