In Kaspiysk, policemen detain at least five young women in Muslim clothes, eyewitnesses report

In the Dagestani town of Kaspiysk, policemen have detained at least five young women in Muslim clothes. This was reported by an eyewitness.

A resident of the town of Kaspiysk told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he saw how on Thursday, several young women were brought to the police station.

"I don't know the reason for their detention. However, for me, it was strange to see in the police station at once several young women dressed according to the canons of Islam. Three of them were wearing hijabs (a Muslim women's cloth that covers the entire body of a woman except for her face and hands), and two other were wearing niqabs (a Muslim women's headdress that covers face leaving a narrow slit for eyes)," the source has clarified.

According to a staff member of the unit on duty of the Kaspyisk GOVD (City Interior Division), several young women were brought to the police station for the verification of their documents. However, he did not mention the exact number of the detained young women. According to the source, after their documents are checked, the detainees will be released soon.
