Bibilov: Parliament of South Ossetia to prepare referendum on accession to Russia
Anatoly Bibilov, the speaker of the South-Ossetian Parliament said that after the final formation of the legislative body, the MPs will start preparing a referendum on the accession to Russia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May the "United Ossetia" Party headed by Anatoly Bibilov was registered for taking part in the parliamentary elections. As a result, after voting on June 8 the "United Ossetia" won 20 out of 34 MP seats.
The main point of the election campaign of the "United Ossetia" was the promise "to achieve the unification of South and North Ossetia within the multinational Russian state."
"We are not abandoning our slogans; there will be no dual approach to this issue. It will be brought to a referendum, but this is the duty of the fully formed, consolidated and operating Parliament," Anatoly Bibilov said on June 23.
