NGO Fair Elections publishes results of parallel counting of votes in Georgia

The NGO Fair Elections has published results of the parallel counting of votes in the parliamentary elections in Georgia. The organization's observes conducted the parallel counting of votes in all regions of the county on Election Day, March 28, representatives of the organization told a press conference in Tbilisi on March 29.

According to the organization's data, the turnout was 62.62%. In percentage terms, the votes were distributed between the parties participating in the elections as follows: the ruling party National Movement - Democrats - 67.78%; the bloc Right Opposition: Industrialists - New - 7.75%; the Union of Democratic Revival of Georgia - 6.60%; the Georgian Labor Party - 6.14%; the party Tavisupleba - Konstantin Gamsakhurdia - 4.72%; the bloc NDP - Traditionalists - 2.38%; and the bloc Ertoba - 2.19%.

Experts of Fair Elections think that if to take into account statistical error, which may have an influence on the final results of the elections, the Union of Democratic Revival, led by Aslan Abashidze, still has a chance of breaking the 7% threshold required to gain representation in the parliament.
