Magomedova reports protraction in opening case on rape and robbery in Khasavyurt

Officers of the Investigating Division of the Khasavyurt OVD (Interior Division) are delaying the opening of a criminal case on the facts of beating and sexual assault of a local woman. This was reported by Sapiyat Magomedova, an advocate of the victim. Law enforcers argue they are carrying out the check at the complaint.

The advocate has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her client was repeatedly subjected to beatings by her ex-husband; however, the law enforcement bodies paid no attention to those facts.

The advocate has emphasized that the woman had sent a complaint via the post office and only after that the Investigating Division of the Khasavyurt OVD began to consider the complaint. According to the advocate, on August 20, her client tried to file a complaint; however, staff members of the OVD refused to accept it.

According to Sapiyat Magomedova, one of the heads of the Investigating Division of the Khasavyurt OVD has clearly said that the complaint will not be accepted and gave the appropriate instruction to the Khasavyurt OVD secretariat.

According to Temirbi Saigidaev, the Deputy Head of the Investigating Division of the Khasavyurt OVD, at present, the woman's complaint is considered by an officer of the Division.
