In North Ossetia, woman complains about kidnapping of her daughter for marriage

In North Ossetia, a woman from the village of Kartsa has filed a complaint to the law enforcement bodies that her 12-year-old daughter was kidnapped for marriage.

The complainant is a citizen of Georgia. According to the woman, her 12-year-old daughter was kidnapped. The complaint was filed to the on duty unit of the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Sunzha District of Ingushetia.

According to the girl's mother, the kidnapper was a 17-year-old resident of the Ingush Cossack village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya.

The law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia have organized a verification of the complaint, the website of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Northern Caucasus, including Ingushetia, the problem of bride kidnapping remains urgent. In November 2013, in Ingushetia, in accordance with the Ingush clergy, a fine for kidnapping girls for marriage was increased from 10,000 up to 200,000 roubles.
