"Imarat Kavkaz" comes into confrontation with "Islamic State"
Aliaskhab (Ali Abu Muhammad) Kebekov, the leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz", recognized by a court decision as a terrorist organization, has accused the leader of Dagestani militants of a split after he had taken oath to the "Islamic State" and appointed a new Amir of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 19 the YouTube posted an appeal of Abu Muhammad, Amir of Dagestan, who announced his taking the oath to the "Islamic State". The same was done by Abu Muhammad of Agachaul, one of the militants' commanders operating in the so-called "Shamilkala sector".
It follows from the statement of Abu Muhammad that he has quitted the subordination to "Imarat Kavkaz" (recognized by the court as a terrorist organization, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). He also urged other militants to follow him in his decision.
The "Caucasian Knot" has pointed out that the statement of Abu Muhammad had strengthened the split in the ranks of North-Caucasian militants.
Kebekov's answer was also posted on the YouTube on December 28. In his statement, he accused the Amir of Dagestan of split and betrayal. Kebekov suggested Abu Muhammad to leave to the territory controlled by the "Islamic State", and appointed Said of Arakan to be a new Amir of Dagestan.
We can state now that the "Imarat Kavkaz", headed by Kebekov has come into confrontation with the "Islamic State".
