Magomed Aushev transported to hospital in Nalchik

The health status of Magomed Aushev has somewhat stabilized, allowing on February 2 to take him to one of the clinics in Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), said Magomed-Ali Aushev, his uncle.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, 2014, Magomed Aushev, a resident of the village of Ekazhevo in Ingushetia, was detained on suspicion of shooting while moving within a wedding convoy. After detention, Aushev was tortured and beaten up, his brother said. During the court session on December 22 he lost consciousness and in grave condition was hospitalized. On January 10, after discharge from hospital, Aushev was placed into the SIZO (pre-trial prison), although, according to his relatives, he is still in need of medical care. On January 30, he was released under recognizance not to leave.

Magomed-Ali Aushev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that his nephew continues suffering from headaches and has not yet fully recovered his memory; therefore, his family decided to subject him to a comprehensive examination in a Nalchik clinic.

He asked not to specify the clinic, where Magomed Aushev was hospitalized.

"We may expect all sorts of unpredictable behaviour from those policemen, who had beaten and tortured my nephew; that is why, I'll be with him all the time he is in the clinic," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
