Book "The Armenian Genocide. A Complete History" published in Russia

Russia has published, for the first time in the Russian language the book of the French historian of Armenian origin Raymond Kevorkian "The Armenian Genocide. A Complete History". The book is a comprehensive study covering over nine hundred pages.

At the presentation of the book, its author, Raymond Kevorkian, Professor at the Saint-Denis Paris University, who is the author of numerous works on the present status of Armenia and Armenians, said that the terrible tragedy of 1915 claimed more than 1.5 million lives.

"Most of the references are to archival materials that inspires confidence in this book, unlike many others, which just rewrote the views of their predecessors," Vadim Mukhanov, a Candidate of History and a senior researcher at the Centre of Caucasian Problems at the Moscow State University of International Relations (known as MGIMO) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Vladimir Novikov, a senior researcher of the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea Region, the main advantage of the book is the systematization of all the available materials on the Armenian genocide.

In his opinion, the book may be useful from the practical viewpoint of international lawyers, involved in the issue of recognition of the Armenian genocide.

The book with the circulation of 2000 copies was published by the "Yauza-Catalogue" Moscow-based publishing house last December. Vardkez Artsruni, a businessman and public figure and the Honoured Builder of Russia, has sponsored the project.
