Magomed Aushev's mother claims law enforcers threaten her son

Family members of Magomed Aushev, who is suspected of opening fire at the wedding party in Ingushetia, have been visited by the armed men. According to Magomed Aushev's mother, they demanded to persuade her son to retract his complaints about torture.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, 2014, Magomed Aushev, a resident of the village of Ekazhevo, was detained as a suspect of opening fire from a car of a wedding motorcade. After his detention, Magomed Aushev, according to his family members, was tortured and beaten. On December 22, at the courthouse, he lost consciousness and was hospitalized. Magomed Aushev was released on recognizance not to leave for medical treatment, and he underwent surgery.

Movlatkhan, the mother of Magomed Aushev, has filed a complaint to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". The woman has complained that she and her family members were threatened by unidentified persons, who introduced themselves as staff members of the Ingush law enforcement bodies.

According to the woman, on May 19, a group of armed men approached the house of the Aushev family. They threatened Movlatkhan Ausheva to create problems for Magomed and her other son Murat and demanded to persuade Magomed to retract his testimony about the use of torture against him, which he gave to investigators, the HRC "Memorial" reports.

According to his mother, Magomed Aushev underwent a course of hospital treatment outside the republic; however, the doctors did not manage to completely restore his health.
