Taziev's trial arouses no public interest
The announcement of interrogation protocols of the victims in the case of Ali Taziev, also known as "Magas", continues in Rostov-on-Don.
The trial takes place without public's attention and attracts no the interest of journalists and other observers, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to investigators, at night on June 22, 2004, Taziev participated in the attack of militants led by Shamil Basaev on government facilities in Ingushetia. The defendant denies his guilt completely.
The prosecutor continued today reading out the protocols of interrogation of the victims in the case, and managed to read out over forty of them. Most of the victims are mothers or wives of those killed during the attack on Nazran. Many of them demand to reimburse their suffered moral harm in the sums ranging from 500,000 to 100 million roubles.
Court sessions on the case are held almost daily; and many victims and witnesses have been already questioned, said Victor Vorozheikin, a Taziev's advocate. He could not specify the exact number of victims, noting that there are more than 200 of them.
Let us remind you that on October 15, 2013, Taziev was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of a group of militants.
