Law enforcers report killing two militants in Grozny

Two residents of Chechnya, who opened fire on law enforcers, have been shot dead in Grozny, said the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Two policemen were wounded. According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the casualties were involved in terror acts.

Policemen were checking their operative data and found armed men in a household located in Krenkel Street in the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny; they were offered to surrender; however, they began shooting and wounded two MIA employees. The attackers were killed by response fire. An improvised explosive device (IED) was found in the place of the special operation.

The casualties have been identified as Mansur Usmanov, 23, a native of the village of Alkhan-Kala, Grozny District, and Bislan Baidulaev, 38, a resident of the village of Orekhovo, Achkhoi-Martan District. Both were on the federal wanted list.

According to the NAC, both killed militants were active members of the grouping commanded by Tagilov, acting in the territory of Chechnya and involved in terrorist crimes, including the attempt to commit a terror act in Grozny on October 5, 2014.
