Derbent residents complain about regular gas supply outages

Systematic cuts of gas supply to Derbent houses occur without warning, the townspeople report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 15 Derbent will celebrate its 2000th birthday; and the city is preparing for the jubilee. Earlier, citizens had complained about problems with street lighting and permanent outages of gas, water and electricity supplies because of repairmen’s actions, and doubted the quality of repairs themselves.

For last week, gas supply in Rasulbekov Street was turned off three times, said Amin Rasulov, a local resident. According to his story, he and his neighbours kept repeatedly calling the Gorgaz, but throughout the weekend "nobody answered phone calls there."

As of August 24, there were no problems with gas supply in the city, said an employee of the Derbent Gorgaz. As for residents’ statements about outages on August 21-23, then, in his words, they received no information.

Let us remind you that the preparation of Derbent for the anniversary was criticized by Sergey Melikov, the presidential envoy to the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and the head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov, who ordered the officials to report to him on the situation in the city twice a day.
