Law enforcers mention Yuri Bitsuev among militants killed in Nalchik

Law enforcers have identified the men killed during the special operation carried out in Nalchik on November 22. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, the number of the killed men included Yuri Bitsuev, who led militants in Kabardino-Balkaria after the death of Robert Zankishiev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 22, the CTO legal regime has been twice introduced in Nalchik. According to the NAC, in the course of the CTO legal regime, acting from 8:00 until 1:00 p.m. Moscow time, 11 militants were killed in the vicinity of Nalchik, and during the evening special operation, law enforcers reported on three other killed suspects in Kuliev Avenue in Nalchik. According to the NAC, all 14 killed militants were members of the local unit of the "Islamic State" (banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization).

"The attackers left the car and tried to escape. As a result of the concerted actions of the law enforcers, all three criminals were killed," reported the source in the evening of November 22.

He has noted that one of the three killed men has been preliminary identified as "Yuri Bitsuev, the new leader of the local ISIL unit," the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria" reports.

The source has explained that until recent time, Yuri Bitsuev headed the so-called central sector of militants of Kabardino-Balkaria, and recently, he was appointed the leader of all the militants in the region, who swore allegiance to the "Islamic State" (IS).

"He has succeeded Robert Zankishiev, who was killed during the special operation carried out in Nalchik on November 10, and became the leader of the armed underground," the source has added.
