17 employees of Belorechensk colony fired after teenager's death

After the incident in the colony of Belorechensk, where inmates were beaten up and a teenager died, the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) is holding checks of all educational colonies of Russia. The check in the Belorechensk colony as such resulted in dismissal of 17 employees.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to investigators, on November 25 employees of the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony beat up the newcomers, six of whom were injured and one died. Seven employees of the colony were detained in this context; they are accused of abuse of power and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim.

The fact that 17 employees of the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony have been sacked and a number of others were brought to disciplinary responsibility was announced today by Anatoly Rudy, the First Deputy Head of the FSIN.

According to his story, the check in the colony is not yet over; and by its results "serious conclusions will be drawn, followed by punishments and dismissals," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Anatoly Rudy as saying.

He added that the FSIN's psychological service is holding a comprehensive check of all educational colonies across the country, the "Kuban TV" reports.
