Local resident complains about actions of law enforcers in village of Kvanada

In the Dagestani village of Kvanada, soldiers do not enter houses and yards; however, they take firewood from villagers' places without their permission. This was reported by a local resident. According to him, law enforcers also prohibit local residents to approach the school and the kindergarten.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 11, counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the village of Kvanada of the Tsumada District. During the shootout, law enforcers killed a man who was later identified Magomed Abdulkhalikov, the wanted leader of the "Tsumada" militant grouping.

According to a resident of the village, the soldiers "are dispersed throughout the whole village."

The villager has also complained about the fact that "the soldiers do not enter houses, but they take firewood from villagers' places without their permission to keep warm."

According to the local resident, the soldiers believe that an accomplice of Magomed Abdulkhalikov is still hiding in the village. The quarter of Kvanada where the shootout occurred is still cordoned off.

The CTO legal regime, referred to in the Federal Law of the Russian Federation "On Combating Terrorism", allows the removal of individuals from certain areas and objects, as well as a number of other restrictions.
