Resident of Voronezh claims having spent 17 years in slavery in Dagestan
In Makhachkala, activists have encountered in a hospital a 59-year-old man, who claims that he had spent the past seventeen years in slavery at a brick factory in Dagestan. This was reported by volunteers of the movement "Alternative".
According to the "Alternative", Pyotr Nikulin, a resident of Voronezh, was found in one of the city hospitals by Zair Ismailov, a coordinator of the movement "Alternative" in Dagestan. The man was hospitalized with diagnose of "complicated pneumonia". According to him, since 1999, he had been working at a brick factory for food and shelter.
According to the volunteers, Pyotr Nikulin was sent to the hospital by his hosts because of his inability to work further.
"In fact, it is hardly possible to prove the labour slavery underwent by Pyotr Nikulin. The only thing he wants is to meet his sisters in Voronezh," the Voronezh edition "Mine!" quotes today Zair Ismailov, a coordinator of the movement "Alternative" in Dagestan, as stating.
