ICRF accuses three Dagestani natives of attempting to join IS
The investigating authorities of the Krasnodar Territory have accused three natives of Dagestan of preparing a trip to Syria to join the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia.
According to the investigators, one of the detainees is a minor. The men detained on the territories of Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory, were plotting a plan to leave for Syria.
"In the period from January to February 2016, three young men gathered in an apartment rented in the village of Yablonovsky of the Republic Adygea and also in Krasnodar and developed a plan to leave for Syria to join the IS and its activities," reports the website of the Investigating Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The 19- and 22-year-old defendants were taken in custody as a pre-trial restriction measure, and the 17-year-old young man signed a recognizance not to leave.
According to the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot", starting from January 1, 2016, about 50 criminal cases were instituted against residents of the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), who were fighting in the Middle East, and citizens who had returned to Russia from the territory of the conflict in Iraq and Syria. At least six residents of the NCFD, who had returned to Russia, were sentenced for their involvement in the combat actions in the Middle East.
