Vladimir Putin gives Ramzan Kadyrov carte blanche to be re-elected as leader of Chechnya

At a meeting with Ramzan Kadyrov, Vladimir Putin has appointed him acting leader of the republic. The Kremlin's approval, the administrative resources particularly active in recent months, and the experience of past elections in Chechnya actually determine who will be the next leader of the Chechen Republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the second term of Ramzan Kadyrov as the Chechen leader expires on April 5. On February 23, he announced that he had no desire to continue to lead the republic. Ramzan Kadyrov voiced similar statements in April 2015, and experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" called his statements "a grandstand play."

In January-February 2016, the leader of Chechnya attracted attention by his attacks on the non-systemic opposition.

On February 24, Dmitry Peskov, the press spokesman for the President of Russia, refused to clarify the fate of Ramzan Kadyrov. Dmitry Peskov has said that the decision on the future of Ramzan Kadyrov "will be made at the end of his term of office.

Meanwhile, by the end of the Ramzan Kadyrov's term of office, the pro-Kremlin "FoRGO" Foundation downgraded the rating of the Chechen leader in the final ranking of governors for 2015.
