Khachirova: promenade in bikini at beauty contest should not stop Caucasian participants
The contesters from the republics of Northern Caucasus, who took part in the beauty contest "Miss Russia-2016" for the first time, felt reverent attitude and no bias, said Ekaterina Khachirova, a contender from Beslan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the list of finalists of the contest "Miss Russia-2016" included the 21-year-old model Ekaterina Khachirova from North Ossetia, the 21-year-old student Albina Ildarova from Dagestan, and the 18-year-old model Nazima Goova from Kabardino-Balkaria. According to organizers, the girls from Northern Caucasus took part in the contest for the first time.
Ekaterina Khachirova wished endurance and willpower to the girls from the Caucasus, who will want to take part in a beauty contest in the future. She said that her participation in the contest was approved by her parents.
Some of the residents of North Ossetia from among those interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" reacted negatively to Khachirova's participation in the beauty contest, explaining their attitude by the peculiarities of national traditions and mentality.
A stormy reaction to the participation of the girls from Northern Caucasus in the beauty contest "Miss Russia-2016" was a reflection of changes in the social life in the region, believes Naima Neflyasheva, the author of the blog "Northern Caucasus through centuries", run on the "Caucasian Knot", and a senior scientific collaborator at the Centre for Civilization and Regional Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
According to her version, over the last 20 years, Northern Caucasus is seeing a die-out of a large hierarchic family with its predefined roles and subordination.
