Ingush MIA refutes information about Belkharoev’s car blast

The SUV Mercedes, parked in Nazran near the house of the Ingush religious leader Ibragim Belkharoev, was destroyed by fire; and the version of an arson is considered, said a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the information about the explosion of the above car near the Belkharoev’s house was spread by some law enforcement sources. According to them, on May 4 an explosive device went off under the car parked near a house in Oskanov Street. As a result, no one was hurt.

According to the updated information of the Ingush MIA, the car "was destroyed by fire not by a blast."

The MIA has added that the car could be set on fire or self-ignite.

Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr", has noted that "the car really belonged to Belkharoev," and added that Belkharoev "is a member of a large Ingush clan."

In Mr Mutsolgov’s opinion, the destruction of the car "could be hardly considered as an attempt," sooner like a provocation before the elections in Ingushetia.

On March 11, near a mosque located in the municipality of Nasyr-Kort in Nazran, after the Friday prayer, an explosion occurred, which wounded four people: a car went off at the moment, when the car of Imam Khamzat Chumakov was passing by.
