The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a fire in a five-storey building in Kosior Street in the Leninsky District of Grozny broke out at night on 31 May. 500 tenants were evacuated from the house. Experts believe that the basic versions of the fire could be a lightning strike and an electric shot-circuit.
According to a source from the Mayoralty, the fire destroyed only the roof of the house; there was in fact no ignition in the apartments.
Muslim Khuchiev, Mayor of Grozny, could not say whether the victims would receive any compensation from the authorities for the lost or damaged property.
