Number of Dagestani casualties reaches fourteen

The number of suspected militants killed during a special operation carried out in the south of Dagestan has grown up to 10 people. Four law enforcers are killed, and five others are hospitalized.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this morning, in the Derbent District, near the village of Gedjukh, law enforcers discovered suspected militants, and an armed clash occurred. According to the preliminary information, Gasan Abdullaev, the leader of the "Southern" militant grouping, was killed. On June 16, law enforcers were involved in a shootout with unidentified persons who opened fire on them near the village of Kasumkent of the Suleiman-Stalsky District. The counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the Suleiman-Stalsky District. Today, the active phase of the special operation has been completed, and as a result, five persons were killed.

Law enforcers also suffered casualties. As a result of the armed clashes with militants, one FSB agent and three staff members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were killed, and five special forces fighters were wounded, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The law enforcers are engaged in identification of the killed militants, the "TASS" reports.
