Miners start daily pickets in Gukovo

In the Rostov Region, miners of the "Kingcoal" mine have launched a protest action because of wage arrears. They have got a sanction from the Gukovo administration to carry out daily pickets.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has already reported on the demands of employees of the "Kingcoal South" to pay their wages. On May 25, about 30 miners from the towns of Gukovo and Krasny Sulin held a picket in Rostov-on-Don, demanding unpaid wages. Then, the protesters claimed that they had not been paid for a year.

At their picket held on July 22, the protesters have stated that in case if their demands are not heard, they will declare a hunger strike, the "RBC" reports with reference to Alexander Stupak, the chief assistant of the "Diamond" mine.

According to the miners themselves, at present, there is practically no job in Gukovo. Officials offer them to go for public works; however, a miner refuses to get a salary of 7000 roubles a month, says Alexander Stupak.
