Militants of "Izberbash" grouping suspected of killing two persons near Sergokala village

In the Sergokala District of Dagestan, the murder of two young men, one of whom was a staff member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), was committed when militants came across a group of tourists, including women and children. A criminal case is instituted on the fact of the murder of a local resident and an attempt on the life of a policeman. This was reported by the press service of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of July 10, in a forest near the village of Sergokala, unidentified attackers killed two young men, who had a vacation in the area. Later, law enforcers reported that, according to the preliminary information, one of the killed men was a staff member of the MIA.

According to investigators, four armed men saw a group of five tourists and approached them. They shattered a glass door and shot a 23-year-old young man. Then, the suspects tied up four persons and seized a car belonging to one of them. The attackers forced two men into the car boot and drove away. When they learned that one of the victims was a policeman, they shot him in the head in revenge for his professional activities, and he died.

The killed men were cousins Magomed and Abdurashid Nurbagandov, the "Kommersant" reports with reference to sources from the law enforcement bodies. Investigators suggest that the attackers were members of the Izberbash terrorist grouping.
