Azerbaijan has no information about arrival of saboteurs from Chechnya
Chechen human rights activist and journalist Mairbek Taramov, living in Baku now, has announced recently that a group of saboteurs of the Chechen President's security service arrived in Baku on September 8 to liquidate leaders of Chechen communities in Azerbaijan, members of the Azerbaijan parliament or their families, and to blow up the Baku-Tbilisi-Jeikhan pipeline as well so that to give rise to strong anti-Chechen sentiments, which will end with the expulsion of Chechen refugees from Azerbaijan.
However the Caucasian Knot correspondent has ascertained law enforcement agencies do not have such information.
There have been a number of noted murders for the period of Chechens' forced stay in Baku. Magomed Kariev, who lived in Azerbaijan as a refugee, was shot dead in Baku's Yasamalsky district in 2001. He was a notorious field commander. 29-year-old Khizir Talkhadov, a former bodyguard of president of the unrecognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Aslan Maskhadov, was killed soon after it. According to the official version, there were personal but not political motives for the murders of the field commanders.
