Activist Karo Egnukyan arrested in Armenia

Law enforcers conducted searches in the apartment and the garage of Karo Egnukyan, a member of the "Constituent Parliament". The activist himself is taken into custody. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" at the headquarters of the united opposition.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of July 17, in Yerevan, supporters of the "Constituent Parliament" seized the building of the regiment of the patrol-and-security service. On July 18, law enforcers detained nine opposition supporters, including Karo Egnukyan, who approached the seized building.

In the evening on July 19, men in masks searched the apartment and the garage of Karo Egnukyan. However, nothing illegal was found during the search, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the headquarters of the united opposition.

According to a staff member of the headquarters, law enforcers seized from the activist's apartment five PCs and two mobile phones.

"The people who carried out the search introduced themselves as agents of the Armenian secret services. Karo Egnukyan himself was arrested," said the source.
