In Kabardino-Balkaria, activists of "Ochag" organize festival for repatriates

In Kabardino-Balkaria, in the course of the celebration of the Day of Repatriate, activists of the public organization "Ochag" (Hearth) fed the repatriates living in the republic with dishes of the national cuisine. Furthermore, an extensive cultural programme was also presented. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by members of the "Ochag".

The Day of Repatriate was established on August 1, 1998. On that day, the first plane with 150 repatriates arrived in Adygea from Kosovo.

All the repatriates who live in Kabardino-Balkaria, including students, were invited to the event. As a result, on August 1, about 120 people gathered in the territory of the sanatorium "Terek". This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Zaur Zhemukha, the co-founder of the organization "Ochag".

He has noted that the event was organized to ensure that the repatriates once again feel the attention, which they extremely need.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by Olga Begret, an activist of the public organization "Ochag", that the number of repatriates includes not only Circassians, but also Balkars, Chechens, and Dagestanis, who have also attended the event.
