Death toll of explosion at "Laili" banquet hall reaches eight persons

The Dagestani Ministry of Public Health has updated the dead list after the explosion in the Makhachkala cafe "Laili". According to the Ministry of Public Health, eight victims died in hospitals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, an explosion occurred at the banquet hall of the cafe "Laili" in Reduktorny village of Makhachkala. As a result, 27 people were injured. On August 2, eight injured persons were brought the medical centres of Moscow.

Today, a teenager girl, born 2001, has died at the Republican Clinical Hospital. Besides, another woman has also died.

According to the Dagestani Ministry of Public Health, five injured persons brought to the Republican Clinical Hospital died. Three other persons injured in the explosion have died at the Moscow medical centres, the RIA "Dagestan" quotes the Dagestani Ministry of Public Health as reporting.

In Makhachkala, the explosion could be caused by corrosion on a gas cylinder, reports Joint-Stock Company (JSC) "Gazprom Gas Distribution Makhachkala". Investigators have opened a criminal case for provision of services failing to meet safety requirements and entailing by negligence the infliction of grievous bodily harm. The Dagestani Prosecutor's Office began checking all banquet facilities and places of mass stay of people.
