Law enforcers carry out third special operation in Andi village since beginning of 2016
Today, in the Dagestani village of Andi, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced for the third time since the beginning of the year. After killing four suspected militants, law enforcers have reported that "operational and search activities are underway" in the village.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced on the territory of the village of Andi in the Botlikh District. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), no law enforcers or local civilians suffered. In the course of the special operation, "Shamil Gadjiev, the leader of the mountainous sector of militants, who was on the wanted list since 2014," was killed among other militants, law enforcers report.
Earlier, on March 25, the CTO legal regime was introduced in the village in connection with the search for militants. It was lifted on March 27. No information was reported on the outcome of the special operation.
The CTO legal regime was also introduced in the village on January 25. A private house was blocked in the village, where, according to law enforcers, three militants were hiding. The house was destroyed during an armed clash. The body of a militant was found under the destroyed house. Meanwhile, a relative of the killed man was also injured. On January 27, the CTO legal regime was cancelled.
Besides, on March 11, the CTO legal regime was introduced on the territory of the Botlikh and Khunzakh Districts. On March 12, the CTO legal regime in the Khunzakh District was cancelled, and no information was reported on cancellation or continuation of the special operation in the Botlikh District.
