POC denies report on release of participants of tractor march

Three arrested members of the Kuban farmers' tractor run still stay at the IVS (temporary detention facility) in Aksai, and Alexei Volchenko, the detained leader of the movement "Polite Farmers" is being kept at the IVS in the Krasnodar Territory. This was reported by Olga Golubyatnikova, a member of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) for the Krasnodar Territory.

On August 21, farmers of the Krasnodar Territory started a tractor run to Moscow in an attempt to draw the authorities' attention to the raiders' seizures of land plot in the region. On August 23, the protesters were detained in the Rostov Region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 25, Alexei Volchenko stated the police had released one of the arrested protestors and promised to release the others. However, today, it has become known that Alexei Volchenko himself was detained in the evening.

According to the POC, none of the participants of the tractor march, sentenced to administrative arrest, has been released till present. Oleg Petrov, Nikolai Maslov and Sergey Vladimirov still continue serving their sentences at the IVS of the Aksai ROVD (District Interior Division).

The complaint about the actions of the Rostov police has been already sent to the Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Federal District (SFD).

Alexander Popkov, an advocate of the human rights organization "Agora", has reported that his organization is ready to provide legal assistance to the farmers.
