NAC confirms deaths of six militants in Dagestan

Six people involved in an attack on the police, including Magomed Khalimbekov, the leader of the local grouping of militants, were killed in Makhachkala and Izberbash. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced in Izberbash and the Kirov District of Makhachkala. Three suspected militants were killed in Makhachkala. In Izberbash, three men were killed in a shootout with law enforcers.

According to the NAC, the number of the killed men included Magomed Khalimbekov, the leader of local militants, who was included in the wanted list in 2015. "It is known that the militants were involved in terrorist crimes, including the attack in August on inspectors of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS), the attempts to undermine an improvised explosive device (IED) in Izberbash, and the shooting of residents of Sergokala on July 10," reports the VAC as quoted by the "Interfax".

According to the NAC, as a result of two special operations, the law enforcers "complete elimination of a criminal grouping, engaged in audacious killings of citizens and law enforcers in the vicinity of Izberbash."
