Head of Kadyrov's security service was hospitalized after road accident with Torshin
On September 11, in a traffic accident in the Naur District of Chechnya, Yuri Torshin, an adviser to Ramzan Kadyrov, perished. According to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), a bike running in front of him toppled over; and Yuri Torshin, who drove a Harley-Davidson tricycle, tried to manoeuvre, but lost control.
Yuri Torshin was a cavalier of five combat medals; he took part in the Afghan War, two wars in Northern Caucasus; he liberated hostages during the terror act in 2004 at School No. 1 in Beslan. During the attack in Dubrovka in 2002, Torshin and his group killed the terrorist leader Movsar Baraev. He is an honorary FSB agent, retired in 2010. Since August 2015, he held the post of the advisor on working with law enforcement bodies to the head of Chechnya.
The accident, in which Yuri Torshin perished, occurred during the rally, organized by the "Akhmat" Fighting Club. Abuzeid Vismuradov, the club president and Kadyrov's chief bodyguard, was also seriously injured in the accident, a law enforcement source said today.
According to his story, at the moment of the accident, Torshin and Vismuradov took part in the rally, during which the Champion's Belt Grand Prix "Akhmat" was brought across all the districts of the republic. The accident occurred when the column was on the way to Naur," told the source.
