Yerevan: opposition supporters demand to release "Sasna Tsrer" members

Today, at the parliament building of Armenia, an action was held in support of the detachment "Sasna Tsrer", whose members held captured for two weeks the building of the police PPS in Yerevan. Supporters have called on MPs to promote the release of detachment members and other political prisoners.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 17-31, the "Sasna Tsrer" grouping consisting of supporters of the "Constituent Parliament" held captured the police building in Yerevan. Initially, policemen were their hostages, but later they were released. On July 27, members of the medical team were taken hostages. By July 30, the hostages were released, and on July 31 the rebels surrendered. Charges are brought against 47 persons involved in the capture of the building.

Today, on the first day of the autumn session of the National Assembly of Armenia, supporters of the "Sasna Tsrer" held a protest near the building of the parliament, the "Radio Azatutyun" reports.

According to Zaruhi Postandjyan, an MP from the oppositional "Heritage" Party, who took part in the rally, the protesters demanded the release of all the people who are, in their opinion, political prisoners.
