WADA launches investigation into positive doping test of Misha Aloyan

The doping test of Russian boxer Misha Aloyan, who had won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, appeared to be positive. This information is published by the hacking group "Fancy Bear", which has earlier hacked the databases of the World Anti-Doping Agency. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will carry out an investigation into the positive doping sample of the Russian boxer.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, Misha Aloyan defeated Ceiber Ávila, an athlete from Colombia in the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament. On August 19, Misha Aloyan defeated Hu Jianguan, a Chinese athlete, and reached the final in boxing in the weight category of up to 52 kg. In the final, Misha Aloyan was defeated by Shakhobidin Zoirov, an athlete from Uzbekistan, with score 0-3.

The documents disclosed by hackers show that A-sample of the doping test revealed in the Misha Aloyan's body the presence of tuaminoheptane, which was treated as a stimulant. The Russian boxer passed the doping test on August 21, the last competition day of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the "R-Sport" reports today.

Coach Eduard Kravtsov has confirmed the fact of positive doping test and explained that the athlete caught a cold in the training camp in Sochi and took medicine in the form of drops, which were allowed during the training process.

"The WADA will carry out its own investigation. If there is no bias, no disqualification can be considered," notes coach Eduard Kravtsov as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".
