In August 2016, 21 persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

At least 21 persons suffered from the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in August 2016, of which 14 people were killed and four others were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

In Dagestan, in August 2016, 18 people suffered from the armed conflict, of whom 14 persons perished and four were wounded. In the course of armed clashes and special operations, 11 alleged members of the armed underground were killed. As a result of an attack committed by members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) two law enforcers were killed and three others were wounded. The attack of unidentified persons killed one civilian and wounded another one.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, in the course of an armed conflict and during a counter-terrorist operation (CTO), three suspected IAF members perished.

In August 2016, no victims of the armed conflict were registered in Karachay-Cherkessia, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, StavropolTerritory and Chechnya.
