Armenian Foreign Ministry denies resettlement to occupied Azerbaijan territory

"We claim one more time there's no state policy of resettlement," spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Gamlet Gasparian said commenting on Azerbaijan's initiative to put the question "About the Situation on the Occupied Azerbaijan Territory" on the agenda of the 59th Session of the UN General Assembly. Azerbaijan always issued ungrounded statements about the "supposed resettlement" and brought other accusations of such a kind, the Armenian side always denied these assertions and invited the international public to make sure of it at the spot, Mr Gasparian said. The spokesman also noted that "on this territory there're really can be some displaced persons from among refugees from Shaumian and Getashen, who don't have a key role in the issue."

"We repeated and confirm again that Azerbaijan must discuss separate questions taken out of the entire context of discussions about the status of Nagorny Karabakh, to which it is trying to draw the attention of the international public, directly with Nagorny Karabakh. From this point of view, we believe Azerbaijan's recent initiative in the United Nations doesn't relate to us," Mr Gasparian stated.
