Relatives of four Dagestani residents appeal to human rights defenders for help in search for them

Relatives of Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov, and Shamil Djamalutdinov have appealed to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" with a request to help finding them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to a source from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) that the disappeared men were arrested.

The appeal was filed to the office of the HRC "Memorial" in Dagestan by relatives of family members of Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov, and Shamil Djamalutdinov, reports a staff members of the HRC "Memorial".

Ratmir Makhaev has reported that relatives of the men disappeared at night on September 30 gathered near the building of the ROVD (District Interior Division) in Makhachkala. However, policemen told the crowd that Gashim Uzdanov, Islam Magomedov, Shamil Djamalutdinov, and Pakhrudin Makhaev, were not brought to the police.

According to Ratmir Makhaev, his son was put in the prevention registration list at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Islam Magomedov was also registered at the prevention list, reports his mother Umraykha Gasanova.

Islam Magomedov was put on the prevention registration list after his returning from Turkey, says his wife Yakhsat Magomedov.

According to human rights defenders, for several years, law enforcers are engaged in fabrication of cases against kidnapped residents of Dagestan. According to the HRC "Memorial", at least five people were kidnapped in September in Chechnya and Dagestan.
