Social network users express outrage at water outages in Makhachkala

Water supply was absent in Makhachkala since October 6; and now the authorities have warned about a 13-day-long water outage in the Kirov District of the city. The prosecutor's office stated the illegality of water outages for more than eight hours per month. Users of social networks demanded to stop water outages.

In September, the Makhachkala "Vodokanal" (water supply agency) warned that on October 6-8 the city would have no water because of the preparation for the autumn-winter season and testing of a new water disinfection system. Residents were advised to make a two-day supply of water, the website "Vodokanal" reports.

However, on October 6, the Mayoralty received a letter from the "RusHydro", according to which the water supply will be interrupted during October 17-30. Kamil Iziev, a Deputy Mayor, explained that water outage by the works on the Miatlin water supply line.

Kamil Iziev urged citizens "to patience and understanding, since the Public Joint-Stock Company (PJSC) 'RusHydro' conducts the large-scale works for the benefit of citizens," the "Novoe Delo" writes.

The Dagestani journalists, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", believe that among the major tasks, faced by Musa Musaev, who headed Makhachkala in June 2015, was the solution of the problems accumulated, when Said Amirov was the Mayor, in the housing and municipal sector.

Citizens have perceived the authorities' statements about the need of a 13-day-long outage with a grain of salt.
