Relatives of missing Dagestanis state authorities' inaction (+video)
Today, about 40 persons took part in an action in the central square of Makhachkala, demanding from the authorities to inform them about the whereabouts of the citizens of the republic, who disappeared during the period from May 2009 to October 2016.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 5 about 60 people took part in an action in the central square of Makhachkala, demanding from the authorities to inform them about the whereabouts of their relatives: Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov and Shamil Djamalutdinov.
On October 2, relatives of Shamil Djamalutdinov and Islam Magomedov, two residents of Kaspiysk, filed complaint about their disappearance in late September. Shamil Djamalutdinov and Islam Magomedov were arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants, reported on October 3 a source from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
Today, in the course of the action, held in the central square of Makhachkala, relatives of the above four Dagestanis, who are missing since September 27, were supported by relatives of other residents of the republic, who had disappeared at different times and whose whereabouts remain unknown until now, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The protesters said that they "wouldn't stop their actions until they know whereabouts of their relatives."
"We see no results of authorities' work. We're just promised to establish their whereabouts; but we aren't going to sit and wait. If we receive no help in Dagestan, we'll turn to Moscow, and get to Strasbourg. We're planning to set up a committee of mothers whose sons were kidnapped by power agents. We'll unite and act jointly to find our children," Umazhat Gasanova, a relative of Islam Magomedov, who disappeared on September 27, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
