Two persons shot dead in shootout in Dagestan

In the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, two militants opened fire on power agents and were killed by return fire, law enforcement bodies have reported.

The incident occurred in the village of Stalskoye at around 10:30 p.m. Moscow time, the source has added.

"Law enforcers tried to stop a car near Stalskoye; the driver refused to obey; and fire was opened from inside the car at the policemen. In the course of the shootout, both militants, who were in the car, were killed," the "Interfax" quotes its source as saying.

According to his version, the casualties are being identified now.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that tonight an armed skirmish has broken out in the village of Kvanada, Tsumandin District, which was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime.
