Resident of Stavropol Territory sentenced to 15 years in prison for his training at IS camp

The court has sentenced Rakhman Bagbekov, a resident of the Stavropol Territory, to 15 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony for the fact that he, according to the FSB Department, was trained for mine hardware at a training camp of the "Islamic State" (IS), recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian   Federation by the court.

According to the FSB Department, in January 2015, Rakhman Bagbekov left for Egypt to study Arabic language at the Islamic centre of Cairo. In one of the mosque, he met a recruiter for the terrorist organization. According to investigators, Rakhman Bagbekov was sent to Syria, where in the period of July-August 2015, he was trained for mine hardware in one of the training camps. In March 2016, he came to Russia and was detained by FSB agents.

The court pronounced the decision to sentence Rakhman Bagbekov to 15 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, the "TASS" reported on October 25.
