Over 10,000 signatures collected to petition for clean water and streets in Dagestan

For one day, more than 10,000 signatures were collected under the petition with the demand to punish the persons responsible for mass poisoning by drinking water in Makhachkala, to ensure cleanliness of streets and uninterrupted supply of residents of Dagestan with water, gas, and electricity.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the mass poisoning of residents of Makhachkala, caused, according to the preliminary information of investigators, by contamination of water supplied to houses of the city residents through water supply pipelines. The message about the petition published on the website "Change.org", which authors ask the President of Russia to bring to justice the persons responsible for mass poisoning of people has come to the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" today, at 1:48 p.m. Moscow time.

"A source from the city administration has reported that Makhachkala residents are likely got poisoned by rat poison," reports the petition addressed to Vladimir Putin and entitled "Stop the chaos in the Republic of Dagestan to prevent a riot!". On October 29, the petition was posted on the website "Change.org".

According to the authors of the petition, the dumpsites of Makhachkala, according to the decision of the city authorities, were treated with rat poison. However, no comprehensive utilization of the waste treated with rat poison was carried out, and recent heavy rains "washed away almost all the garbage to the October Revolution Channel, and that discharge could result in penetration of toxins into city water supply pipelines and poisoning of city residents."

In their petition to Vladimir Putin, residents of Dagestan state that during this year, Makhachkala is littered with garbage not taken away for weeks. Moreover, city residents are regularly and for a long time, even for several weeks, are cut off of the water, gas and electricity supply, often without any warning.
