30 relatives of missing Dagestani residents hold rally in Makhachkala

Today, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., relatives of missing Dagestani residents held a rally in Makhachkala. The protesters accused the authorities of Dagestan of inaction.

On October 4, it became known that relatives of Dagestani residents Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov, and Shamil Djamalutdinov filed an appeal to the office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". The relatives of the disappeared men asked the human rights defenders for assistance in establishing their whereabouts. Starting from October 5, they regularly hold actions in Makhachkala, demanding from the authorities to inform them about the whereabouts of their relatives.

As of October 13, the fate of disappeared Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov, and Shamil Djamalutdinov "has not been cleared," note the protesters. According to them, "today, none of the officials met them."

"We have spent several hours standing here. And, apart from the police, no one showed interest in our action, and none of the officials came to us. However, we ask only for the information about the whereabouts of our children. We will not stop holding our actions until we find our children," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Burliyat Makhaeva, the mother of disappeared Pakhrudin Makhaev.
